Pledge Salawat

Embark on this challange of sending 5,000,000 salawat, as salawaat (benediction) for the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) is the only dhikr (rememberance) that is guaranteed acceptance. One should also recite with the intention that it may increase our love for our Beloved Rasoolallah صلى الله عليه و سلم, in that we may recognize him, and if we recognize him and love him, his footsteps shall beckon us so that we shall walk upon his path.

In obedience to Allah’s command; the best of those who send salawat are those who do it out of love.

Anas said that a man came to the Prophet and asked, “When will the Last Hour come, Messenger of Allah?”  He صلى الله عليه و سلم said, “What have you prepared for it?” He said, “I have not prepared a lot of prayer or fasting or charity for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger.”  He صلى الله عليه و سلم said, “You will be with the one you love.”  [Al-Bukhari] (Ash-Shifa of Qadi ‘Iyad : 2.2.2)

Types of Salawat

Optimally one would recite Durood Ibraheemi throughout, however for easy integration to your daily routine it is advised to recite short salwaat with Durood Ibraheemi at the beginning and end.

Examples of Salawat include:
  • Sallalahu alayhi wasalam
  • Allahumma Salli ‘Alaa Sayyidina Muhammad
  • As-salaamu `alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
  • JazAllahu’anna Muhammadan Sallalahu alaihi wasalam bimaa huwa ahluh
Best Manner to recite Salawat:
  • Step 1) Recite Durood Ibraheemi in full
  • Step 2) Recite any salawat as mentioned above, one thousand times
  • Step 3) Then recite Durood Ibraheemi again in full

Salawat for the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) is the only dhikr that is guaranteed acceptance. One should also recite with the intention that it may increase our love for our Beloved Rasoolallah صلى الله عليه و سلم, in that we may recognize him, and if we recognize him and love him and his footsteps shall beckon us so that we shall walk upon his path.
